Setting Timecode
After you've imported a transcript that has no timecode, you'll notice that all the timecode is set to "00:00:00.00".
This will require you to sync up the captions with the audio. You'll also notice that the Set Timecode button becomes visible as soon as you import.
If you don't see it, you can access it at any time by going to the View menu and selecting Show Set Timecode Button. You can also use the Set Timecode button to fine tune captions you've already transcribed to get them as time accurate as possible.
Setting timecode for imported text transcripts is very easy. Click on the first caption, and make sure the playhead of the movie is at the very beginning. The movie will begin to play and the first selected caption will have its timecode set to wherever the playhead was when the Set Timecode button was clicked. It should be 00:00:00.00 for the first caption normally. The next line will turn blue indicating that's the caption you're going to listen for. Try to hit your Return/Enter key just at the beginning of the highlighted caption and it will set that as the start time for that caption. Keep doing this until you've synced your whole movie with your captions. If you mess up (easy to do). Just hit the Stop button (same as the Start button) to stop the process. Select a caption or two before the section you want to do over and then hit the Set Timecode again to restart the process. It should stop on its own when you get to the end of the movie. This is a great way to fine-tune captions that you've already transcribed, too, to get them really time accurate.

(Synchronizing Imported Text with the Video)
In this video I show you how to synchronize your imported transcripts to the video using the Set Timecode button. It is important to remember to hit your Return/Enter key at the first word of each caption to get perfect synchronization. The Set Timecode button can also be used to fine tune the timing of captions you set by either typing them in using the Repeat function or if you have imported another caption format.
